Building Bridges, Changing Lives

Dr. Gloria C. Bent and Dudu Angel Mathebula co-founded the Glory of Hope Foundation with a shared mission to give back by supporting those in need. Inspired by Dr. Bent’s mentorship visit to South Africa in 2020, the foundation was created to bring hope through practical care, opportunity, and community service.

House of Hope is the foundation’s after-school support program in Troyville, providing a safe place for children to stay, eat, and complete schoolwork.

Health Fair & Family Support

Our West Africa outreach has focused on practical community care through health fairs and direct family support. In Guediawaye, Senegal, the foundation helped provide screenings for hypertension and diabetes, distributed school supplies, and supported families caring for children with disabilities. The work also extended into Gambia, reflecting a broader regional commitment to health access, dignity, and everyday support for vulnerable communities.

Community Health Fair in Hodges Land

In Hodges Land, Jamaica, Glory of Hope hosted its first health fair in the community where Dr. Bent spent her formative years. Residents came out for screenings, physical exams, nutrition support, and health education, while giveaway items helped meet immediate needs. Individuals requiring further care were also referred to their doctors, making the event both practical and deeply personal for the community.
